Employment Law Update Workshop

The start of the new tax year on 1 April brought with it a number of important employment legislation changes, such as Domestic Violence Leave Entitlement and Payday Filing. What's more, another round of changes are on their way 6 May.

Employers need to be aware of the changes and what they will mean for their business. To help in this regard, and in response to feedback from our members, we are running this workshop to get you up to date with the legislation.

Key points covered by the programme will include:

  • Changes to the criterion for starting new employees on a 90 day trial and the requirements imposed on employers when recruiting employees where a collective agreement exists
  • Introduction of times when rest and meal breaks are to be taken
  • Rights of union delegates to be paid for work on union duties  and changes to the law involving union access to the workplace
  • Changes to the matters pertaining to the bargaining for a collective agreement
  • Protection for persons who are union members or engaged on union activities
  • Tightening of the requirements for businesses undertaking restructuring affecting the ongoing employment of employees
