Employer Bulletin | 24 July
Prime Minister Chris Hipkins has announced a new criminal offense targeting ramraid offending, with a maximum 10-year sentence. This move aims to combat the considerable harm caused by ram raids and address the cycle of reoffending among a small group of young offenders. The new law allows 12 and 13-year-olds involved in ram-raids to be charged in the Youth Court and covers passengers in the ram-raid vehicle if they participate in theft or damage.
